Sarıgerme is a little town in Ortaca. I get to visit Sarıgerme at the second part of my holiday. I have been hearing that the beach there is as beautiful as İztuzu but Sarıgerme is more touristic. There is a long beach with hotels around but before visiting that I stop by at the center of the town. There is no one around because everybody is at that beautiful beach. A Turkish guy from Germany says, “People start coming over at night” and continues telling about Sarıgerme. We have a nice conversation but he can’t tell much about Sarıgerme and he directs me to a cafe owner who knows the town better, by saying that he would know more.
I stop by at the mosque and the school. Sarıgerme is no longer than one kilometer. I walk from one side to another. I find a ball at the playground of the school and play basketball a bit. I even slam dunk to a short basket. After that I find the café that the guy mentions.
Another chit-chat but the topic is the same, we are trying to understand Sarıgerme. Every time we end up talking about the beauty of the beach. I learn that the beach is awarded with the blue flag as a nice and clean beach.
I reach to the beach from Sarçed (Sarıgerme nature education association). The place is open to the public and has very reasonable prices. It is a very nice place. Since the beach is surrounded by the hotels, this place is the only place for the public to use. The manager of the Sarçed, Ismail accompanies me while I am looking around. And after that we have a nice Turkish waffle (gözleme). I even help a bit to prepare gözleme.
I spend almost all my day next to the sea but I still haven’t been in. I don’t want to go into the sea after a calm day like this but my day has been planned in another way. I will do some action water sports. I will do the mable which is a smaller version of banana. We plan a 15 minutes long tour. I jump on with my brother Mert. We are connected to the speed boat. We start slow but later we slide so fast. It is actually so fun but for someone who doesn’t like adrenalin, it might be super scary. We get off with pleasure with Mert.
After that I do wind surfing for 15 minutes. I give up quite early because of the strong wind. The wind hits me so hard that I can’t stand on my feed.
When I am out, Ismail invites us to the Sarçed to eat. After having a sandwich, pomegranate juice and coffee, I go to the Tui Blue Sarıgerme Park to make a ride with a catamaran. It is a type of boat that I know but something that I have never been on. That is what I have been counting down for.
They introduce me with the trainer Suat who will help me how to control it. He explains some and then says “well, don’t worry I will handle the difficult parts”. When we start going, he sees how much I enjoy going fast and he starts holding one side up. Once he even higher one side 90 degrees to the sea. It is ride full of adrenalin. When we are getting off, Suat says “I have done everything that can be done with this catamaran”. Maybe I am done with catamaran but I am not done with the things that can be done here.
